I did pull out the long rod (light carrier) and there is a glass bulb unbroken at the end that can be unscrewed – as I did to insure it was removeable. Photos included. It is made of a bronze – brass material and looks in good condition. No attempt at cleaning was done. The box lid has in pen – “Dr. Holowach #12 Laryngoscope” Comes in original box. This medical device is not part of my expertise with hand tools used for woodworking. I purchased from a friend at an estate sale knowing it was an important device.
