Description: ACCEPTING OFFERS! This XV500 is so rare that many Ibanez collectors do not even know that it exists. It was made in Japan for only 1 year and was available in only 2 finishes, this being the Blue Halfburst. It is hard to capture the beauty of the finish, but it starts lighter blue on the bass side and then bursts to a darker blue on the treble side of the body. Very cool and original. As an added bonus, this guitar includes the original case, which is very hard to find and sells for about $500 just by itself. Original tremolo bar also included. The condition of this guitar is Excellent. You would be hard pressed to find a mark on it without a very scrutinous eye. The neck is awesome and it plays outstanding. Everything indicates that this guitar was almost never played. So if you are familiar with these guitars, you may be thinking, wait, three pickups? That's right! Someone took this already Beast of a guitar and turned it into an absolute Monster! The guitar originally had two Ibanez V5 blade humbuckers. Those 2 pickups are now gone and a third middle pickup was added as well (very nice routing work to accommodate the middle pickup (see pic). The current pickups have been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan "Original Parallel Axis" in the Neck, a Seymour Duncan "Distortion Parallel Axis" in the Middle and a Seymour Duncan "Duncan Distortion" in the Bridge position. Not only that, but all three pickups were wound by the one and only Maricella Juarez (only the most famous winder at SD). I am telling you, this guitar screams! Also, added are three mini-toggle switches, that I assume are coil splits, phase switches or a boost? I don't even know! There is just too much going on for me, but you will figure it out. I can tell you, each switch works, and each switch does something, but in combination with the 3-way toggle, this is more than I can handle lol! Please view the pictures and use the zoom feature to judge the characteristics and condition of this guitar, as the pics are a integral part of this listing. Guitar will be insured for full amount of purchase and a signature will be required on delivery. There will be NO RETURNS for this guitar.
