Pages 57-64 looks if they were not cut properly when bound both a bit over cut and under cut to allow some wear on the excess paper. G. W. Beale enlisted in May of 1861 in Westmoreland County, VA., as a sergeant in the 9th Virginia Cavalry, Company C. In December of 1862 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. This is rare one on the engagements of Jeb Stuart's men.
