Description: This is a very fiery specimen of seam opal from Honduras that I acquired at the little mining town of Erandique in 1971. It is not the layered seam opal from that district but I have called it "seam opal" for lack of another description. It occurs in the light colored glassy volcanics which host the layered opal seams. It might be possible to cab this piece but I cannot guarantee it so I am offering it as a specimen. The best description I can give are the pictures. It has been dry now for decades and still retains its fire.
