Description: Electric Carb Heat kit for twin Bing 64, 94 type Carbs as fitted to the Rotax 912, BMW, HKS etc engines Now that more and more ethanol is being added to our petrol (mogas), carb ice is much more prone to develop and aircraft that previously had no issues with carb ice are now finding it to be a problem. The electric carb ice system has the advantage if working much quicker than conventional warm air ducting and much easier and neater to install. The heat is also applied directly to the carb body rather than just passing through warm air which degrades engine performance. Some customers have also found that in very cold climates, applying the heat to the carbs for a few minutes helps to make the engine start easier. This kit consists of two thermo heaters that are bolted to the side of each of the Bing carbs (see pic, sorry best I have as not normally visible once installed) and are controlled by a switch on the dashboard. It is designed to work on 12v and the kit contains the thermo heaters, relay, inline fuse, switch and LED indicator for the dashboard plus wiring. Each thermo unit consumes approx 2.7A at 12v This kit is for the dual (two) Bing carbs, a single kit is also available for Jabiru and similar single carb engines which is listed separately or please contact me for further details.
