Description: The Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona Here is a flat (staple and matches removed) unstruck front strike matchcover from the Weatherford Hotel in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. Albert A. Hall was the "owner and operator" at this time. There is a nice locating map on the rear cover that shows Flagstaff on Highway 66 but the Weatherford Hotel is actually located at Leroux and Aspen, one block north of old Route 66 (Santa Fe Avenue). But the Weatherford was listed in Jack Rittenhouse’s A Guide Book to Highway 66 published in 1946 so it usually considered a Route 66 hotel. This hotel is a historic property and is still open. Search with Google for more information. The inside of this matchcover has a nice mileage chart so I scanned it as well. What's really nice (and very rare) about the mileage table is that all the destinations have their elevations listed. There is no tape, glue or handwriting on the inside of this matchcover. The matchcover is in excellent unstruck condition. I have 250 US Highway 66 matchcover auctions on eBay all with opening auction bids of just $1.00.
