Description: Shipping from Europe with tracking number Real Club de Golf de La Cerdaña The year 1929 was one of those legendary years in the contemporary history of Catalonia. The year of the Universal Exhibition, of a great qualitative leap in many levels and situations of our society. And it was also the year of the birth of one of the most traditional clubs in Catalonia: the Real Club de Golf de Cerdaña, the first in the province of Gerona. Its name of Real comes from the presence at the inauguration of His Majesty King Alfonso XIII. Curiously, his grandson, the current King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, landed in a helicopter at the club facilities, in 1982, exactly on hole 18, and being captivated by the surroundings, he said to the then president of the Spanish Golf Federation, Luis Figueras-Dotti: "Why hadn't they told me that there was such a beautiful golf course in Puigcerdá?" In 1942, the course was moved to nearby land owned by Don José Andreu and under his presidency. Under the technical direction of Don Javier Arana, the first nine holes were inaugurated, which were increased in a first phase to twelve and finally in 1948 the current eighteen holes were established. From then on, it became a club, albeit a private one, with a lot of activity, especially in the summer season. International tournaments were organised, such as the Spanish Open in 1950 or the Spain-England Match in 1955. In 1951, the Real Club de Golf de Cerdaña was visited by the illustrious Umberto II of Savoy. Later, the club was visited by many other famous people from various social backgrounds, who have catalogued the course and its surroundings as one of the most beautiful in our country.
