Description: Set of six Russian Imperial vermeil cloissone enamel forks by Grachev from the modern - turn of century - period. The Grachev firm was founded in St. Petersburg in 1866. The recipients of numerous design awards throughout Europe and the United States, the firm was awarded the Imperial Warrant in 1892. Some of their items were retailed by Faberg. The firm closed in March 1918. (online sources). Each are hallmarked for silver purity and origin - 84 and kokoshnik mark for St. Petersburg - as well as GRACHEV mark. Weight is each fork ranges from 49.1 to 51.8 grams, lengths are 7 1/4" and widths are 1".
