Description: Sonoran Gold Turquoise Lariat Necklace Sterling Handmade Chain Navajo Parkhurst This is a stunning new lariat necklace with breathtaking turquoise stones. The artist alternated between the use of larger (and three dimensional) turquoise cabochons and Mercury dimes from the 1920s-1940s. The bezels, round links, and oval chain links are all handmade. There are 8 dimes and 9 turquoise stones in all. The gorgeous turquoise stones were sourced from the Sonoran Gold Mine in northern Mexico. The silver has a "brushed" look to it, making it less reflective than typical sterling silver. This, we believe, helps the turquoise stones to stand out even more. Please note, these turquoise stones are stunning and vibrant. These photos do not do the colors justice!! From tip to tip, the necklace is 27 1/2" long. The lariat provides a drop of 5 1/2". The dimes are 11/16" in diameter. The turquoise stones are variable in size, but in general are 11/16" by 1/2" by 5/16" deep. The outer diameter of the circle links is 5/16". It weighs a comfortable 81 g. The artist's hallmark is "M", for Mildred Parkhurst, a celebrated Navajo silversmith. Touch of Turquoise invites you to Wear the West!
