Description: Here is a vintage paperback copy of one of the greatest books on baseball ever written. This is The Natural by Bernard Malamud. As shown on the copyright page this is the first Dell printing published in 1965. This copy is in wonderful condition. The binding is square and and text is immaculate throughout. There is a previous owner’s name in ink and a previous book seller’s pencil notations on the front inner page. There are two small well placed pieces of tape to the top and bottom spine ends not to correct any tears or damage but they appear to be placed there as reinforcements. There are three small spots on the rear cover as shown in the photos provided. Collectors of vintage paperbacks know that these editions were published essentially to be read, maybe finished, and then tossed out. Most were left on commuter trains or buses and forgotten about. Those that survived in any sort of collectible condition are highly sought after especially if the author and title are classics as is the case here. If you’re already a collector or if you’re interested in including these gems in your current tastes, perhaps this copy is for you.
