Description: VINTAGE VERY RARE IRVINE & JACHENS BRAND MODERATE SIZED RECTANGULAR RETRO STYLE COWS HEAD COMSTOCK SILVER CATTLE RANCHING OR FARMING RELATED BELT BUCKLE—- This buckle was hallmark stamped by the maker as being “COMSTOCK SILVER”, which means a heavy layer of sterling silver was bonded to the buckle surfaces. It is NOT a solid sterling silver buckle, but does give that appearance and it will tarnish over time (there is moderate tarnish on it) just like a sterling silver buckle will. It’s decades old and pre-owned but still does look and work well on a belt.
