This fun figural teapot would be a great gift for your western friend that loves great food! This teapot was made by MSRF. MSRF produced a series of teapots in the 1980's that were called Main Street Storefronts. The teapots featured shops and a few homes that were commonly found on Main Streets in the US. Most of the teapots were two sided. This teapot was made in the mold to show a Tex-Mex Grill restaurant on one side and a Boots shop on the other. The details are raised for added interest. The teapot was coated in white glaze. The other glaze colors were hand painted on. The Boots Shop has a turquoise door and window frame with the sign Boots in dark blue on the turquoise background. The door handle is a green topped red pepper and more red peppers decorate under the sign. The window shows shelves of different boots for sale. Under the window is green cactus. The Tex-Mex Grill Restaurant features the same green topped red peppers above the door and one on the door as a handle. The sign is dark blue letters on the turquoise background. Green cactus is beside the door. The lid of the teapot is the "roofs" of the shops and was hand painted in pale violet. The handle and spout were left with the white glaze. The sides of the buildings were done in a purple glaze. Under the base of the teapot it is marked with the MSRF stamp. This teapot measures approximately: 3" (W) x 7" (L) from handle to spout and stands x 6 3/4" (H). This teapot is in vintage condition. I do see two small chips (one on left hand corner next to spout, and one on inside top rim ~ view in photos). There is no loss to the glazes, colors, or hand painted details.
