Description: The 70 Thai baht banknote commemorates the 70th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadejs accession to the throne, and was sold for 100 baht with the note packaged with a leaflet. The golden banknote is vertically oriented on both sides and measures 89 mm wide and 162 mm long. The front side of the note highlights the standing figure of Bhumibol Adulyadej (also known as Rama IX) wearing the following: the uniform of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; the Royal House of Chakra gown with the Most Illustrious Order of the Royal House of Chakri; and the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao breast chain. The back side of the note features a younger Bhumibol Adulyadej in full regalia standing in front of the Phuttan Kanchanasinghat Throne in the Paisan Taksin Hall while holding the Sword of Victory. Because it was issued for numismatic sales, the note does not have a security thread nor a watermark. However, it has the Royal Garuda emblem as its registration device.
