Description: The Nancy Drew Mystery Stories were produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate, a publishing conglomerate that generated vast output of young reader material using pseudonymous authors and a large staff of ghost writers. Most of the early Nancy Drew novels were written by Edward, Harriet, and Edna Stratemeyer. This novel, The Clue in the Diary, was originally written by Edna Stratemeyer in 1932. This edition was released between 1952 and 1958 and precedes the revisions that were done to the series beginning in 1959 to update cultural references, simplify plots, and eliminate dated sexist and racist references. This is an excellent copy of an early edition, suitable for collecting.
