Hardcover book was the author's follow up to the classic MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY dealing with the harsh treatment of a native sailor by the British governor of a tropical island (Raymond Massey) but the tables turn when God seemingly takes a hand and a massive hurricane strikes the island. Book is in overall very good condition. Burt illustrated cover has minor edge wear. Spine shows some light fading. Back cover is in nice shape. First interior page has nicely scripted note by original owner dated Nov 8, 1937 telling of his seeing the movie (and possibly buying the book) at the Cathay Circle theater in Los Angeles. Third interior page has a newspaper clipping noting the death of author James Hall. Pages are off white, cream colored, free of any rips, tears, notable creases or stains. All full page photos are in top condition and all pages are tight to spine. Overall a unique highly collectible copy of this classic “disaster” novel.
