Description: This is a 8th impression (printing) of the 1955 Bodley Head edition (1st edition) of C.S. Lewis's Magician's Nephew, published 1975. This extremely rare and sought after book has a number of defects. First, it is an rehabilitated ex libri copy with an ink stamp which reads "Gloucestershire County Library Class JF Copy 017" and a front end page neatly removed. Second, it has been professionally rebound in a new binding leather/pleather boards. Third, it has a price-clipped dust jacket with the edge of the "" symbol still visible (repaired with archival paper), which is a bit loose owning to the slightly altered geometry of the newly bound book. The dust jacket has fading from sun damage along its spine, fold marks along it's outer edge, and a few other cosmetic defects. Otherwise, book is fully intact. There are no markings other than the library stamp anywhere within the cover pages or text. The pages are bright and clean, aside from a little discoloration at the bottom edge page block. The binding is tight and sturdy. The dust jacket has clean edges for its age.
