U.S. Army Issue Footwear Cover, Chemical Protective LP7P in Sealed Bag

Description: Condition Description: This U.S. Army Issue Footwear Cover, Chemical Protective LP7P is brand new and remains in its 1979 sealed clear plastic bag. This item was subsequently packed in a sealed plastic storage bin with other U.S. Army equipment and Service memorabilia. This plastic storage bin has always been in environmentally controlled space in every one of our smoke free homes. While attending the Military Police Officer's Basic Course at Fort McClellan, AL during January through June 1983, I established a close friendship with a fellow Second Lieutenant who was attending the Chemical Corps Officer's Basic Course. Prior to our respective graduation and departure from Fort McClellan, we traded items to remember each other. I gave him a black 24 inch Military Police Night Stick with his name engraved in gold lettering and I received U.S. Army issue Chemical Protective Footwear Covers and a Personal Decontamination Kit M-25A1 with my name etched into the front side of the olive drab container. After my military service, both these Chemical Corps items were displayed in my home office and later in my finished basement as part of my larger military service display. During the exhibit of these items, I always ensured that they were not in the direct sunlight. As a result, its sealed clear plastic bag has not yellowed or weakened to tears and the Footwear Covers rubber material has not deteriorated. I have retained these U.S. Army Issue Chemical Protective Footwear Covers for over 37 years; however, since my wife and I relocated from Manassas, VA to Fort Myers, FL we no longer have the space to display or indefinitely store all my Army / Military Police Corps equipment and memorabilia items. Subsequently, I have decided to post this item for sale on eBay. The top side view of this U.S. Army Issue Footwear Cover, Chemical Protective LP7P is shown in the first attached high resolution photograph. The items are sealed in a clear plastic bag and its dimensions are approximately 21 inches long and 10 inches wide. The weight of the plastic bag containing the two Footwear Covers is approximately 2lbs, 8 ounces. On the gray rubber material visible through the clear plastic bag, there is the item's nomenclature stenciled in the following white text: "FOOTWEAR COVER, CHEMICAL PROTECTIVE LP7P. DES 17-76; DLA 1C8-78-C-5201; 8430-01-021-5978; PF INDUSTRIES, INC. 6/79; 02218" as shown in the second attached high resolution photograph. The bottom side view of this U.S. Army Issue Footwear Cover, Chemical Protective LP7P contained in its sealed plastic bag is shown in the third attached high resolution photograph. The same nomenclature information is on this side of the gray rubber material visible through the clear plastic bag as shown in the fourth attached high resolution photograph.
