Used by all US soldiers in WW2 that used the M1 Garand including Infantry, Paratroopers, Rangers and Armored troops The bandoleer is a lightweight 6 pocket bandoleer with an attached shoulder strap. Each pocket is designed to hold either M1 Garand 8 round enbloc clips or rounds on stripper clips (for the likes of the Springfield or Winchester rifles). This was issued full of ammo and was a quick way to get resupply ammo to the front line troops. The Garand cotton ammo bandoleer was initially designed to be thrown away after the ammunition had been loaded into the webbing pouches but they proved a very popular way of carrying extra ammunition by wearing them across the body.
