VMGS has built its reputation with museum quality colonial reproductions, original Art Glass in the Nouveau and Deco traditions, crystal sculpture, contemporary designs and exquisite Cameo creations. VMGS artwork is represented in many of the most prestigious private collections. There are several techniques employed in making cased floral vases. Colored glass rods and glass millefiori are used to create the distinct flowers that are cased and suspended in molten crystal glass. The crystal glass is then blown and hand-formed into it's final shape. The piece is then polished, signed and given a number for its limited edition. It is important to understand that the color in the vase and the flowers are not painted formulas. VMGS starts with raw materials, sand, soda ash, potash and metal oxides, and finish with these beautiful pieces. VMGS is represented in the Toledo Museum, Corning Museum Wheaton Museum of American Glass and many others. Every piece of glass created by master glass-blowers at VMGS is fashioned entirely by hand using traditional and contemporary tools and techniques.
