Important Note and Disclosure: The string pulls and the internal talking mechanism "wants" to talk, but it currently does not talk! I am pretty sure it can be repaired, but I couldn't attempt that without opening the sealed box. Not going to do that! But a future owner can attempt it! This 1967 "Off to See The Wizard" Talking Hand Puppet is featured in Scarfone & Stillman’s outstanding 1992 collectibles reference book The Wizard of Oz Collector’s Treasury [Page 237 – Bottom – see photos]. Sorry, but the reference book is NOT included in this listing! In still-sealed, “Near Mint” condition other than the Talking mechanism. Pretty remarkable given its 57-year age and original packaging. It comes from an avid collector and longtime member of the International Wizard of Oz Club who is now 92 years-old, rarely opened collectibles items, and is now wanting to see some of his various long-enjoyed treasures make it into appreciative younger hands!
