Description: Antique Blue Silk Wedding Dress Gorgeous 1860s blue silk dress. The dress was worn as a wedding dress. The bodice portion of the dress forms a long, very fitted line to just below the natural waist with a deep v in front. Long sleeves Flare at the end accented with Black embroiderer with glass seed beads. Round neckline, closed in front with hook and eye closures. The interior of the boned bodice and sleeves is lined. The skirt is very full, At the front it has the same Black embroiderer with glass seed beads. Closes with hook and eye at the front. The dress is completely sewn by hand and quite beautifully done. Measured laying flat NOT doubled BODICE Chest 15 1/2" Waist 13" Sleeves 20" Length 16" To Waist not V SKIRT Waist 13.5 Hips Full Length 38.5" CONDITION: Overall Excellent. I would consider this piece wearable however, an item of this age would likely be best enjoyed as display only. There is some staining under the arms (hard to see) . There is some minor wear spots in the silk at the waist of the skit, V of the bodice and edge of bodice where it fastens it. Some stitching may be loose. This dress is in Excellent condition for the age. There is no discoloration, odd smells or other damage. This dress came from a family friend. They had a long history in the Eastern United States Back to the mid 1700s. The dress was a great Great Grandmothers Wedding Dress.
