Description: Vint Appliqued Quilt w/ Bouquet Pastel Flowers from Kit 40660 This auction is for a stunning quilt probably made from a kit in the 1930's or 1940's. The quilt measures approximately 81" X 92". I have seen no holes or fabric deterioration. There is a very, very light spot, about 6" in diameter inside the floral border on the left side near the top. It's one of those "phantom" spots -- is it really there or not? Also on the left side, but outside the border is a small age spot. On the right side, near the bottom, is a small spot that looks like the quilt rubbed up against something dirty. The applique work was done by hand with tiny buttonhole stitches. Quilting was also done by hand and stitches average 16 stitches per inch counting both the top and the bottom stitches. The fabric is not "crisp" as if never laundered, but it isn't "soft" as if well worn. My best guess is that it was used very little. This lovely quilt would make an excellent addition to your collection. I appreciate that buyers would like to buy for the best price possible, but half-price offers are never considered or acknowledged. Thanks for understanding. Please understand that delivery times and the cost of shipping are beyond my control. These are controlled entirely by the Post Office, UPS, and FedEx.
