Description: Vintage 1940's Handmade Doll Yarn Hair Period Clothing "Red Dorothy" 25" Tall. I call this doll a "Red Dorothy" doll because she reminds me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, but all RED! Someone worked so hard on her... her face, hair, and maybe even her dress. The only non-handmade clues I found was a stamped "4" on her undershirt and her bobby socks that have "Mercerized Cotton" stamped on them. No tags on her or her dress. She is solid and weighty, measuring at 25" tall, 21" wide at the arms when laying on her back, and 5" deep. Her body is made of a pink denim-like material. Her baby/toddler shoes are leather (unmarked). She is in Very Good condition. There is one stain spot on her left sock. And there is a nugget of something that looks like a seed or crumb, but it's affixed to her head so must be part of the seaming. Please look at all photos closely. Condition is "Used.
