Vintage 1969 Original Grumman Model LEM Apollo Lunar Module NASA

Description: This is a listing for a vintage 1969 original and official Grumman Desktop Model of the Apollo Missions Lunar Module or the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) The base for Model shows the Grumman and NASA Logos. This model was officially produced by Grumman. Unit stands approximately 7 inches tall and base has a diameter of approximately 10 inches. Model is made of both plastic and metal parts. The LEM model itself is in very nice overall condition. Has all original decals as well as all the small antennas and thrusters intact. Two of the antennas show some minor bending. Decals are in nice condition just showing some slight signs of wear in spots. It looks like the silver "pipe" on the right front of the crew compartment was glued back into place in the past. Landing legs are also all intact and in very nice condition. Overall the lander model just shows some minor dust / dirt spots. The plastic of the LEM is a cream color, just like others I have seen listed. The crew compartment can separate from the bottom descent engine / stage, just like the real Lunar Module could. It slips on and off two metal pins set into the descent stage. The bottom descent stage can also come on and off the metal pins in the middle of the base. Base is also in very nice condition with Grumman and NASA logos nice and bright. Green felt on base bottom is also in very nice condition. This great vintage piece is very rare to find in such clean and intact condition. As such it would be a very nice addition to any collection. Please see our pictures for full details.
