Description: Vintage Chinese Hand Painted Blue& White Male Figure Porcelain Pillow/Head Rest.This piece has a distinctive lily pad used as a cover with the stem being held by the boy, a delightful and whimsical attribute. The holes on the bottom of the piece were cut to allow air to escape during the firing process. Chinese Porcelain pillows are not unusual, and there is a fascinating history including allowing the users to keep their hair in place. Some pillows were also used in opium dens, however this style was less useful in that situation. This wonderful piece measures approximately 15" long x 8" wide x 10" tall.
