Vintage Columbia Medical School Photo Autopsy Cadaver Post Mortem Oddities 1940s

Description: Original photographs of a freshman student in a cadaver lab at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and a close-up shot of what he is dissecting. Dated April 19, 1940. >>Both photos came out of an estate and are highly desirable medical oddities pieces. The student was only identified as a freshman with the college. >>Photos measure approximately 2.5" x 2.5" square and come protected in top loaders. >>One photo shows a young student seated at a table with what appears to be a leg or upper thigh being dissected. In the background are dissection subjects covered with sheets. An accompanying close-up photo identifies the subject as a "cross-section," but the rest of the caption smudged. >>Condition is consistent with age. Flaws include light soiling, ink marks and fingerprints on the front of the close-up of the dissection subject, plus the ink on the back caption is smudged. Lower right corner of the close-up is dogeared. Top of the photo with the student has chipped emulsion. >>Ignore the blue border around the scan of the photo back. I had to do that so the white background would show up properly on the scanner. Check out the high res scans for a close up. Sold as-is, no returns.
