Description: Heavily used vintage Gem Crochet hook. Size I. Made in USA. 6 inches long. Handle stock measures approximately 5.75 mm in diameter. It is plain silver metal, presumably aluminum (non-magnetic). Any colors perceived in the photos are the result of reflection in the remaining shiny patches. The shiny finish has worn away to matte metal in many areas, especially on the working end. The throat is almost completely matte. I'm not a big crocheter, but I took it for a spin with some DazzleAire acrylic yarn. The profile is really nice to work with, though you can hear/feel the yarn against the matte metal throat, it is grippy.
