Description: This is a vintage handmade small cutlery caddy or utensil box with handle. Primitive in style and simply made. This small box measures 7 1/8" wide, is 5 1/8" from front to back, and measures 4 3/4" high to top of curved handle. Wood is medium brown in stain and is thin. Looks like there was twine or string of some type tied to the handle top and box sides as an accent that was treated with a layer of stain or shellac. Small nails hold this box together. Originally it looks like it was lined with a piece of gray felt (picture #10) that is quite worn and discolored. Then it was directly covered over with two cut pieces of green felt (picture #11). Green felt pieces are removable but I didn't attempt to remove the gray. All of the felt should be replaced as it is a bit unclean. This unpretentious little wooden box is in good vintage condition; no broken, split, cracked, or splintery wood. Simple but lovely in its primitive, handmade style. Thanks for looking.
