You would place the jewel on the clothing piece, then the brad over the jewel and press so it goes through the fabric, then turn the fabric over and close the prongs. Perhaps you make tops for these dolls or want to replace on a queen order of the bath sash, or a Cissette sweater or waist sash. These are all vintage and I've not ever found anything like these vintage "brooch" style brads anywhere. Auction is for one vintage brad with jewel. There are 5 brads with jewel available.
