Description: Vintage Mini PANAMA PACIFIC LinesSilk Shipping Cruise Deck Flag Measurements: flag is approximately 3" x 2 1/4" attached to a 7" flagstick. I can accurately date this to 1937 as I have a collection of cruise memorabilia all from the same person. See below for information about USL and AML. Made of silk, the stars and eagle are in good stead as in the stitching on the flag edges. It could use a gentle ironing on a very cool setting. Overall condition is very good.1929-31 Paul W. Chapman & Co. purchased both United States Lines (USL) and American Merchant Lines (AML) from USSB on 14 February 1929 and merged them as United States Lines. From 1932-1939, under International Mercantile Marine ownership, USL and AML had the same house flag as the very successful Panama Pacific Line (PPL) – the yet-to-be-dubbed screaming eagle – albeit with the letters USL and AML – respectively – flanking the central eagle. The eagle was dark blue. Your item will be shipped in a Stay Flat Mailer or similar to ensure the safest delivery. International bidders welcome! And your satisfaction is always guaranteed!
