Vintage SKJ Kallestewa Ring Inlay Pink MOP Sterling size 6.25

Description: The inlay is set on a foundation of heavy gauge sterling silver. The band of the ring is substantial and thick. This ring is stamped "Sterling" and has the "SKJ" hallmark. Identified in "Hallmarks of the Southwest" by Barton Wright. SKJ is the shared hallmark of Sibert and Janita Kallestewa (b. 1947), Zuni Silversmiths and Lapidarists. Talented Zuni silversmiths, Sibert and Janita Kallestewa, have been making wonderful jewelry since the 1950's and 1970's, respectively. They share the maker's mark on this ring and it was made by one or both of them as a collaboration. I have hand polished this ring with a soft cloth to a brilliant shine. That is the beauty of sterling silver, it will become dark and can be polished back to a beautiful shine time after time.
