This would be primarily for decor as it doesn't appear to be working. It's got such a great style and shape I could see it on an office shelf or in a grouping of objects in a bedroom or living room. And the bonus is you don't have to hear it tick. Ha. There is wear to the surface and the clock does wind but appears to be not working. I don't know if it can be fixed.
