Description: You're looking at a custom Swiss-made cast iron vintage industrial Haag Streit optometrist's table in very good working condition. This piece possesses a large adjustment mechanism for setting the height of the table top making it useful as a desk or side table. The adjustment works as smooth as silk and once a height is selected the entire piece is rock solid. Not even a fraction of a wobble. The base alone weighs a little over 40 lbs. The top was in bad shape so we replaced it with a hardwood Hamilton top salvaged from an old bookbinding shop. The top has its original gorgeous brass edge making it attractive and functional. It shows wear commensurate with age including marks, scratches, scuffs, etc. All things said, this is a very usable, very sturdy piece in lovely condition. The top will be removed for shipping. The top measures approx: 24" x 16.25". The level height of the table can be adjusted from approx 23.25" to 32". Pick up is available from Berkeley, CA.
