Description: Vtg Ka-bar Cleveland OH 1237 Seki Japan Fixed Blade Skinner Hunting Knife with black leather sheath - sheath is unbranded but fits well. Knife has alot of surface scratches none appear very deep. Appear to be from common use. Will likely buff out if you choose to do so. Pommel and leather stack handle are tight. But leather disks have numerous scratches see photos. Blade has a nice sharp edge. Sold as found has not been cleaned has some verdigris on the cross guard. NOTE - I noticed the lowercase d at the end of the word Cleveland is undersized - see photo - do not know why - could not find info on this - but wanted to point it out? Rare strike? This knife was made in Seki, Japan circa 1980 by Tak Fukuta for Ka-Bar. It features a stacked leather handle with brass guard and aluminum pommel. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, Ka-Bar, and Browning among others.
