Description: Clean-lined , textured vase was made in the Austrian branch of West German ceramics giant , Carstens-Tonnieshof. An intriguing blend of modernist form and the back-to-nature movement of the late 1960s, the 10.5" vase features variegated, washy glazes that obscure and reveal one another like leaves on a tree in the wind. Powerfully sculptural on its own, the vase's earthy finish makes it the perfect backdrop for leaves, branches or blooms. Stunning midcentury piece is in EUC with what appears to be a pinpoint production flaw ( glaze skip) as shown, on the shoulder. I find no chips, cracks, rubs, fading, crazing or finish loss.
