Description: Volume 1 During the 1990s, the Wisconsin Central Ltd. rose up and demonstrated to the railroad industry what a customer service-oriented rail transportation system can accomplish. Born of a cast-off route thought too devoid of traffic to pay for itself, the WC has grown into the nations premier regional railroad, boasting a heavy-duty CTC mainline from Chicago to Superior, WI that connects a network of branches, serving the paper, printing, mining, and other regional industries. Volume I - The Wisconsin Central follows the WCs mainline from Franklin Park near Chicago, to Scott Street in Fond du Lac, WI, visiting Deval, Libertyville, Burlington, Waukesha, Rugby Jct., Slinger, Lomira, and Byron - plus other towns - along the way. 120 minutes Volume 2 begins at shops east in north Fond du Lac, WI. Following a look at the yard and shops, the program continues west to visit Van Dyne, Osh Kosh, Neenah, Dale, Weyauwega, Gills Landing, Waupaca, Nelsons, Stevens Point and Junction City. The WC's fleet of EMD SD45s, Cowls, GP40s, SDL39s, GP30s, and switchers are seen in yard, local, and mainline action during all four seasons. 120 minutes, color with sound and maps, DVD-R format. Volume 3 begins at Junction City, where Volume 2 left off, and continues west to Superior, WI and Minneapolis, MN. Locations visited include Milladore, Auburndale, Marshfield, Spencer, Owen, Conrath, Ladysmith, Stone Lake, Sauntry, South Itasca, Stanley, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Colfax, New Richmond, Somerset, New Brighton, and others. 95 Minutes. Volume 4 follows the Bradley, Pembine, and Manistique Subdivisions from Ladysmith, WI to Sault Ste Marie, MI. Videotaped over a 5 year period during winter, spring, summer and fall, the WCs colorful locomotives are joined by vintage steam and diesel power as we visit Northwoods locations including Ladysmith, Prentice, Bradley, Rhinelander, Argonne, Pembine, Gladstone, Manistique, Trout Lake, Rudyard, Sault Ste Marie, and others. You will love the antique turntable at Rhinelander, the Soo Line F-unit and 2-8-0 on the excursion train, and the neat contrast of rail and water traffic at the Soo Locks. 120 minutes, color and sound, DVD-R format. Volume 5 follows the Valley, Marinette, Fox River and Manitowoc Subdivisions. Recorded over a 5 year period during winter, spring, summer and fall, the WCs colorful locomotives put on a GREAT show as we visit branchline locations including Junction City, Wausau, Tomahawk, Bradley, Escanaba, Powers, Marinette, Oconto, Green Bay, Appleton, Menasha, Hilbert, Manitowoc, and more! Also has scenes of the now-gone Tomahawk Railroad in Tomahawk. Since the WC was folded into the Canadian National in late 2001, we have revisited some favorite locations along the Wisconsin mainline, featuring exciting scenes of classic WC lash-ups! SDL39 fans take note...this is the WC program for you. 110 minutes, color with sound, DVD-R format.
