We commissioned this painting in 2005 for our art gallery. This painting is framed and ready to hang. "Woman with a Parasol Facing Left was painted by Claude Monet in oil on canvas during the Impressionism epoch in 1875. Original painting size was 88.0x131.0". It is the collection of Musee d’Orsay, Paris, France. In 1885, Monet started to paint figure paintings which he had completely abandoned figure painting for a long time, he had only briefly did it at the beginning of his career. This was the last time Monet painted the human figure. The woman in the painting was Suzanne, who was Alice Hosched’s 18 years old daughter. Alice Hosched, who later became Monet’s second wife. The woman in the painting is in step with movement of the clouds in the background, her dress and the bending plants at her feet indicating the direction of the wind. Reference (n.d.).
